Thrissur developed low-
Cost microwave printed circuit board.
These boards are required in strategic applications such as space, defense and atomic energy.
\"India still relies on imported advanced electronic hardware in strategic applications, which is one of the main steps in electronic material-driven localization, especially in the wireless communications sector, said Dr NR Munirathnam, director general of c-MET.
\"In addition, many of these key microwave materials fall under the embargo category due to international policies,\" he added . \".
These localized microwave boards save a lot of cost.
India has been importing these microwave circuit boards from abroad at an exorbitant cost ($250 per square foot.
Now, the cost of localized boards per square foot will be reduced to $80, which is about 1 out of 4 of the cost.
This will bring huge changes to the overall performance of the microwave circuit board industry and pave the way for many startups in the field of microwave circuit design.
The launch of localized microwave circuit boards will enable Indian microwave companies to occupy the commercial microwave circuit market worldwide.
The world seems to have shown interest.
