Customer specializes in Design and Development of High Power RF and Power Management Product contact us from the internet. According to the customer’s requirement, this is a 2-layer board Ro4350B material with copper-clad at QFN.

The customer consulted a lot of famous PCB manufacturers. But our client got the same answer “We cannot do it” or “We did not make it before, and no this technical reserve” from all factories that had been quoted.

This is not the end of the world. The customer really lucked out and got in touch with us, or we should say our Rocket PCB is pretty fortunate we got this consultation. Now, here is our solution to resolve this problem and satisfy the necessary of the customer.

After a long discussion and getting the approval with customer, we proposed using 4 layer stack-up with a long processing program to realize this PCB.

This is the drilling chart. 8-layer PCB, 1.6mm, complex cross-connected mechanical and laser vias

Customer faced the problem that this board was not able to realize in the factories which had been quoted.

But fortunately, we were consulted. After discussed with customer and got the approval. One solution was put forwarded we used stacked and staggered microvias to replace the complex cross-connected mechanical vias, besides we split the NC program and combined them from 1-3, 1-5, 3-6, 4-6, 6-8 to 1-2, 2-3, 3-4, 4-5, 5-6, 6-7, 7-8. The final stack-up was shown as below.
