The demand for higher performance and low signal loss of electronic products continues to drive the development of electronic systems with passive components embedded in Multilayer PCB.
Resistor is an important passive component in circuit. The embedded resistance PCB realizes this purpose by removing the discrete passive components from the PCB surface and placing them in the PCB. This frees up surface space for more active components that can add functionality.
The embedded capacitor PCB or called buried capacitor PCB improves the electrical performance, releases the surface space and eliminates the solder joints. In addition, in order to meet the needs of electronic equipment, including higher frequency, lower voltage and greater current, end users need enhanced functions, smaller overall dimensions and lower cost. The current standard capacitor materials used in high-end computing industry are mainly 50 μ m (2mil) dielectric thickness materials, which are mainly used in telecommunication and network applications.
Embedded passive components must have a specified value, and the value must have a tolerance that allows PCB design to meet electrical timing and circuit signal quality. Embedded resistors or capacitors are included in PCB design, which can optimize the placement of passive components in the circuit.
